Project Aim
This project's task was to design a tool that would be used to instruct a target demographic on a specific surgical method among a list of options.

This unit took a primary focus on additive manufacturing, 3D printing being a major part of said focus allowed deeper exploration into the constantly improving technology.
Using meshmixer and fusion 360 mesh tools, shaped a skull into a printable piece for testing
Using cura to simulate prints, helped understand excess wastage from supports as well as stress points on a part
First prints came out well on the FDM Ultimaker printer, the skull piece was denser than expected
The base and brain came out well, it all fit together smoothly, ready for presentation
Initial concept presentation poster, informal exhibition
Adjustments made before first formal concept presentation

Poster 2 for concept presentation with clients, adds context to design
Stage 2
Following the presentation to the primary clients, feedback was taken onboard about the design and resulting iterations were made.

Feedback included:
- Lack of awareness that it was a skull
- Possible addition of a way to know where on the skull it is located
- Fixture method of some kind to prevent movement when operating
One crucial flaw came through after printing the final model, learned that scaling a model down after designing it with clearance, shrinks said clearance and resulted in the print base insert not slotting into the top.
